Hello:
Almost eleven months ago now people all across the world made their new year’s resolutions. Essentially they were asking themselves this question, “what would I like to change about myself?” Common resolutions include exercise plans, financial goals, and attitude adjustments. At this point it is rather clear whether those changes took effect or fell by the wayside.
All the resolutions from last year and all of the upcoming resolutions this year are focused on improving something about oneself. Humans need to improve themselves because there are so many ways that they can improve. Our God though, cannot improve in any way shape or form because He is already perfect. Therefore He says in Malachi 3:6 “For I am the Lord , I do not change; Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.”
Thank God that He does not change as the seasons do. If He did He might change His mind over the salvation of mankind. Because He does not change we can be sure of our salvation today and every day. God is not going to take back the forgiveness of sins. He will continue to bless and care for His children. Thank God for that.
